Ambiance: Upscale restaurant with a rotating/seasonal menu perfect for a formal date night, anniversary, birthday/celebration, or unique dining experience. The food was incredible! My first time trying oysters - really great experience! Knowledgeable and friendly staff/service. Street parking available, bar onsite as well. Beautiful interior aesthetic and nice ambiance.

This was an elevated dining experience. Service was incredible, the food was perfectly rich and delicious, and the restaurant is simple on the inside with just the right amount of decor. Great cocktail and beer/wine menu. I love how you can see the kitchen while you're dining. I can't wait to return.

I apologize ahead of time for the subpar pics but I had to give an excellent review after visiting this restaurant. I came for a work meeting and I think very highly of places that can provide exceptional service and food for a large group of people at once. One downside is the parking: there's really nowhere in the front of the building (though they do have valet) and spots are limited behind the restaurant. Though I luckily was able to find a spot nearby! Now for the positives. Every (and I mean every) dish was well-executed and so flavorful. The bread rolls were very buttery and fresh. Definitely recommend getting the asparagus tart (combo worked out surprisingly well), tortelloni, and blackened grouper because the dishes are very unique though you can't go wrong with anything here. The strip steak is well cooked and not dry at all. They also did a little show when the desserts came out! All of the staff were extremely attentive, welcoming and treated each of us as if we were the only ones in the restaurant. Ambiance fits well for semi-formal get togethers or date nights. Shoutout to the restaurant and staff for a fantastic place! Gained another fan favorite.

Update: had another chance to dine here. Still outstanding food, but again, still heavy handed on the salt in some dishes. The creamed spinach gave me electrolytes for DAYS. This trip had us gnoshing on the oyster tower. Was really nice to try a new variety of gulf oysters recently being farmed. Nice blend of the traditional gulf oyster with a little more brininess you'd get from an east coast variety. The hanger steak was superbly done. I LOVE it when a restaurant has this cut. I think the hanger (onglet) and the bavette are soooo underused and under appreciated in American dining. The jollof rice was a surprise hit of the night. Wa la an uppercut of flavor as soon as it hit your tongue. Texturally superb too. The short rib ravioli was nicely done, but not as spectacular as the other dishes...very mainstream. The figs accompanying them were a really nice touch though. Still loving the food and the inspiration here, just wishing someone behind the pass wasn't going all "Salt Bae" on some of the dishes.

Amazing service, great ambience, and delicious food! My bf and I still think about their octopus appetizer from time to time. Orders: - Bread (free): Buttery and fluffy. Nice opening bites - Oysters (raw): Honestly the smoothest, cleanest, sweet oysters I've ever had. So good - Octopus: Super tender with tons of flavor. Yogurt, chermoula sauce, and red pepper sauce paired well with the octopus. Arguably the best dish tonight - Truffle risotto (special): Luxurious and creamy - Lobster pot pie: Chicken and lobster and pastry dough - need I say more? The inside reminded me of a corn chowder! - Sorbet: 3 flavors: raspberry lemon, lavender orange, and blueberry. The lavender orange (as the waiter mentioned) tasted the most unique - the feeling of September :) Would definitely come back if I were in the area again!

Bludorn is delicious! (Hard stop) The food, service, cocktails, and coffee are all top tier! The ravioli and the burger were randomly my favorites, but nothing that I ate was lacking in the least. The ambience is nice (great for a date) and the service is top notch. There's street parking for the WIN! Definitely worth the visit and the price tag. Cheers!

I've had many business trips to Houston in the past 20 years, and it seems like there's always a new restaurant the locals take me to. The restaurant scene in Houston is bustling - packed restaurants on weeknights and overall excellent quality, quantity, and diversity. I'm wondering if any native Houstonians actually shop and cook home meals with so many dining options around. Three of us came to Bludorn for dinner, a sleek, New American place with open kitchen and big bar. The menu has a good mix of fish and meat with some Southern USA, Italian and Asian influences. Even the cocktail menu has Japanese-inspired items lime Yuzu Sours and those from India too. For apps, definitely recommend short-rib ravioli and grilled octopus for sharing. These Italian-inspired apps were cooked perfectly and full of flavor (5 stars). We also got a Texas-sized Smoked Maitake mushroom for sharing. Glad to see Japanese ingredients on the menu, though I found the taste to be on the tart side (4 stars). For entree, I ordered the chicken. Although regarded as a mundane restaurant item, I'll gladly try chicken if its prepared perfectly. Bludorn's version packs truffles and root veggies like pureed rutabaga and sweet potato for a meaty, juicy chicken entree with the earthly flavors I was looking for. (5 stars) We shared Zeppola for dessert, which are basically Italian donut holes that are crispy outside and soft inside. I really liked the lemon curd dipping sauce. (5 stars) Another excellent. 5-star dining experience in Houston.

This dining experience was truly one of the best I've had. The staff were all extremely kind and professional and attentive, including the hosts and waitstaff. Every dish that we tried was so flavorful -- truly unique combinations of flavors, cooked to perfection. The drinks were equally delicious. My espresso martini was probably the best I've ever had. Highly recommend the ravioli! The appetizer/small portion was small, so get the large serving to enjoy more of it. The ambiance was perfect - calm, warm, modern, relaxing. The ambient music was pleasant and the lighting was intimate. Perfect for the romance of date night.
